As you know, we received another threat yesterday. As has been the case with many of the threats, Tufts was not singled out but rather included in a list of local organizations.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is pleased to announce that the department has invited the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC) to commence a re-accreditation assessment of the Tufts University Police Department.
The series of threats that the university received last month has now ceased, and the Tufts University Police Department, and our municipal and state partners, remain prepared to handle any future threats that might arise.
Tufts University has received increased reports of scam calls targeting students. These calls come from scammers posing as law enforcement and government entities who threaten legal action if they are not given photos or money.
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, members of TUPD visited Fenway Park in Boston to conclude this year’s fundraising period for Home Base’s No Shave November campaign. TUPD was able to raise $1,250 to be put toward mental health resources for veterans.
