Federal law requires Tufts University to disclose statistics concerning certain crimes enumerated in the Clery Act that occur within the university’s Clery geography and that are reported to campus security authorities (CSAs) and local law enforcement.

Under the law, CSAs include members of the Tufts University Department of Public Safety (DPS); any individual who has responsibility for campus security, but who is not a member of the DPS; any individual identified by the university as someone to whom a crime should be reported; and any university official who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities. Individuals serving the university as CSAs vary based on their job function, and include, by way of example, but are not limited to staff from Residential Life and Student Service including Resident Assistants (RA’s), the Executive Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX/504 Coordinator, Title IX liaisons, deans of students, judicial affairs officers, coaches, Graduate Resident Directors (GRDs), First Year Assistants (FYAs), Community Development Assistants (CDAs) and House Managers.
